HUSKY, Healthcare for UninSured Kids and Youth

What’s New with HUSKY?
 [updated April 10, 2008]

We’re going through a few changes in the HUSKY program.  Don’t worry – no one will lose health coverage due to these changes, and all benefits are staying the same.

Information for HUSKY members:

  1. If your child or family was formerly enrolled in Health Net Healthy Options or WellCare of Connecticut/Preferred One, we asked you to change to a different health plan by April 1, 2008. The reason is that these two plans left the HUSKY program on April 1.

  • You had a choice to enroll in Anthem BlueCare Family Plan or Community Health Network of Connecticut, or Traditional Medicaid. If you did not select a new health plan, you are still covered. Members of your family were automatically enrolled in Traditional Medicaid if you did not select a new plan.

  • However, we want you to know that you can still choose a different plan at any time. In fact, we recently sent a letter to families in Traditional Medicaid to tell you how to change plans. Please click here to see this letter in English and here for Español.

  1. If your child or family is enrolled in Anthem BlueCare Family Plan or Community Health Network of Connecticut, you do not need to do anything now. (You still have the option to change to a different plan if you wish).
